Transduction |
Transduction is when a bacterial DNA is injected into another bacteria via a virus. During the lytic cycle when viruses are being assembled sometimes the host cells DNA will end up in the virus. After lysis occurs and the cell bursts, the virus goes to infect another bacteria cell. It will inject the host cells DNA into that bacteria. The DNA will then intertwine with the new bacteria's DNA successfully transferring the genetic material from one bacteria to another.
