Bacteria reproduce asexually via Binary fission. This means that 1 parent cell produces 2 identical daughter cells. You would think that this would cause an extreme lack of diversity. However they have 3 ways of sharing DNA to Create diversity among themselves. These ways are conjugation, transformation and transduction. These allow bacteria to swap DNA and add it to their DNA to create variation this allows bacteria to give other bacteria things like antibiotic resistance which is why super bugs are so effective and can spread and multiply so quickly.
